From the earliest age, art has been my focus, after all I was surrounded by art and artists.
It was no surprise to my family when I went to a private art college after high school. As in high school, figurative work fascinated me in college, but I was also exposed to experts in many disciplines of art.
The most influential being calligraphy, of which I interned with a professional calligrapher while in college. After college I made use of the structure of calligraphy and combined it with my love of the human form, which became the Tree People Series. Living in the Rocky Mountain West, I couldn't help but to reflect my environment in my art as creating dozens of native botanical watercolors. Currently my work is reflecting my need to express myself, sometimes iconicaly through the Tree People series or through powerful, graceful female figures.
I continue to add to the Tree People series, and my figurative work, in addition to fulfilling calligraphy, illustration, and design commissions.
